Test Date Planning
The ACT is offered 7 times per year: February, April, June, July, September, October, and December. Registration typically closes about 5 weeks before the test date.
When to Take the ACT
Most students take the ACT in spring of junior year with a possible retake in fall of senior year. This allows time for score improvement while meeting early application deadlines.
Late Registration
Late registration is available for an additional fee up to about 3 weeks before the test. Standby testing is a last resort option with no guarantee of a seat.
